Finding the blind spots

Artificial intelligence has become an integral part of our lives. What better place to experience this than in Singapore? The Southeast Asian country is not only a pioneer in smart city technology and a global AI hotspot but also TÜV SÜD’s most important location outside Europe. As an independent testing, inspection, and certification service provider, the company is a highly sought-after partner when it comes to ensuring the quality and safety of artificial intelligence. It’s a mission that AI Research Engineer at TÜV SÜD Harleen Kaur Sidhu pursues with great enthusiasm.

Harleen and her team extensively test each AI application in accordance with the quality model that has been developed.

TÜV SÜD's quality model examines AI under six aspects – from security to legal compliance to sustainability.

“In the coming years, AI is expected to play a dominant role in the management and operation of essential infrastructure, from transportation systems and power grids, by making decisions and performing tasks with unprecedented speed and efficiency.” – ChatGPT

“Our defined framework conditions and our expertise allow us to reliably evaluate the quality of AI.“

ChatGPT has become the best-known symbol of the rapid rise of artificial intelligence. However, the Large Language Model is just the most prominent manifestation of a technology that is already influencing our lives in many areas - consciously and unconsciously. This makes it all the more important to define a framework for learning systems that can be used to reliably assess the quality of AI. Harleen is conducting research on precisely this topic with the assistance of numerous colleagues from TÜV SÜD around the world. The fundamental concept is in place, as we can’t afford to have blind spots when it comes to AI. Let Harleen Kaur Sidhu explain more about this in the video!
